David is a leading expert in lighting, with two Amos Lighting + Home showrooms in the South West, featuring domestic lighting as well as furniture. Amos Lighting + Home provide expert advice and design expertise for private clients as well as interior designers and architects. With a keen eye for design and a strong commercial background David is the perfect addition to the panel.
David has been working in the lighting industry for 37 years, starting his career in his father’s lighting business in Bristol, working his way up through the ranks to finally become manager. In 2000 David opened Amos Lighting, creating an individual brand focussing on his customers, then adding furniture to the offer in 2009.
David will be joining Touch Design Group director David Crosby, our head of technical drawing Rob Potten and our production manager Sam Pechtel-Slatcher to judge the student design competition submissions. They will be using the criteria of innovation and originality, attention to detail and presentation, creativity and aesthetics, commercial viability and usability and lastly, but not leastly, materials. The shortlist will be announced on 24 April, the finalist picked on 2 May with a celebration event taking place on 13 September at the Touch Design Group showroom.
